Information about RAY
Raha-automaattiyhdistys (Finland’s Slot Machine Association), which is generally referred to as RAY, was established in 1938 to raise funds through gaming operations to support Finnish health and welfare organizations. RAY has an exclusive right in Finland to operate slot machines and casino table games, and to run a casino.

RAY brings in EUR 650 million in 2009 » 11.02.2010
The total revenue of the RAY (Finnish Slot Machine Association) in 2009 was EUR 650.8 million, which was EUR 8.7 million less than in the previous year (- 1.3 %). This drop in revenue was due to the general economic recession, which affected gaming particularly in restaurants and at Grand Casino Helsinki.

The Government has validated the amendment to the RAY gaming licence that enables RAY to distribute slot machine and casino games on the Internet. RAY’s goal is to launch the Internet gaming selection in August 2010.

The RAY jackpot goes to associations for the disabled » 17.12.2009
Finland’s Slot Machine Association (RAY) proposes that a total sum of MEUR 278.2 be granted to 805 associations as funding for 1,629 causes next year. Associations for the disabled are winning the jackpot, receiving a total of MEUR 55.

In the first half of 2009, RAY’s total gaming revenue amounted to EUR 318 million, a decrease of EUR six million, or 1.8 per cent, from the corresponding period last year.
