Ensuring that funding is used in a beneficial way

In addition to preparing and paying funding, RAY also monitors, supervises and evaluates how it is used. This ensures that the funding is used in a correct and appropriate way.

As part of the payment process RAY checks to ensure that appropriate reports have been submitted for any funding previously granted. In the case of construction projects, RAY also examines the plans and financing calculations.

In addition, RAY’s own inspectors visit a significant number of organisations each year to perform audit work and provide guidance. If abuses are found the organisation in question can be barred from receiving further payments. In extreme cases funding can be reclaimed.

The social impacts of RAY’s funding activities are also monitored by means of studies, research and evaluations commissioned from external parties.
