Support for those who
most need it

In Finland help is particularly needed by those groups and families which - due to long-term unemployment, serious debt, disability, illness, and general insecurity - face a particularly heavy burden of problems.

Each year RAY’s profit for the financial period is distributed as funding to health and social welfare organisations which help the most deprived people in Finland.

In recent years the biggest recipients of RAY’s funding have included the Finnish Federation of the Visually Impaired, the Finnish Association of People with Mobility Disabilities, the Finnish Association for Mental Health and the Finnish Red Cross. The funding granted has amounted to millions of euros.

The total funding granted is around EUR 300 million. In addition, EUR 100 million is transferred to the state to provide care and rehabilitation for war veterans.
